Baby Knoxx was born in Leeds (UK) into a world that would most commonly be referred to as a gypsy community. Art, crafts, and music were essential ways of making money while growing up, which is how she honed her craft as a lyricist and singer. Her ability to not see music as binary or genre focused, but instead fluid forms of creativity gives her a unique perspective most artists today lack.
The double "X" in her name symbolizes the innocence that remains in us all, no matter what has occurred in our lives. She says "I thought it was funny and disarming to picture a baby knocking on the door of your consciousness whenever you begin to feel shame. Reminding you that that’s who you truly are. Innocent and pure. If your reality is being negotiated with on the daily in a way that is harmful to your well being, XX that. If you are being abused in other ways and being told to stay quiet, XX the part of you that has accepted that and rise up." Hence the name Baby Knoxx was born.
